Why Get HydraFacial?
If you’ve looked at your reflection in the mirror recently and wished you could have clearer, healthier, more youthful-looking skin, you’re not alone.
Perhaps you want to look fresh-faced for an upcoming event or you just want to feel that boost of self-confidence and wellbeing that comes with an overall healthier appearance. If that’s the case, then it may be time for you to try a HydraFacial treatment.
With HydraFacial, you can expect clearer, more hydrated, and more youthful-looking skin immediately. You might be skeptical of this claim, and we understand! You might expect only the most exfoliation-heavy treatments to be effective, and you might expect to have inflamed, blotchy skin for several hours or days after the treatment.
But that just isn’t the case with HydraFacial.
In just half an hour, you can undergo the HydraFacial treatment and expect thoroughly cleansed skin and fresh, unclogged pores. This doesn’t require an extensive or invasive procedure. On the contrary, the HydraFacial procedure is gentle and comfortable. If you’d like to find out more about the procedure itself, keep reading below.
The Hydrafacial procedure
The HydraFacial procedure is entirely safe, non-invasive, and comfortable. No harsh elements will be used to exfoliate your face, no incisions will be made, and no harsh chemicals will be used.
There are four steps to the HydraFacial Procedure: Exfoliation, Glycolic Peel, Extraction, and Serum Application. We will go through each step here one by one so you can have an accurate idea of what your treatment will be like.
1) Exfoliation. The technician will use a small soft-tipped suction tool to gently exfoliate the skin. The suction tool vacuums the surface of the skin, clearing away any debris or dead skin cells.
2) Glycolic Peel. A gentle peel will be applied to your face to remove impurities from the skin. You will feel a slight tingle, but no sting or painful sensation like certain glycolic peels used in other treatments.
3) Extraction. This is where we unclog your pores! A tool called a vortex-extraction nozzle acts as a vacuum and extracts dirt and grime from clogged pores. You can even take a look at what the machine extracts if you like. You might be surprised by how much gunk the tool removes. The one thing we know for sure is that seeing this will make you glad you underwent our HydraFacial treatment.
4) Serum Application. Finally, the technician will use a vortex-fusion tool to infuse a healthy serum containing collagen, mineral peptides, and antioxidants into the skin. This helps to promote hydration and elasticity and also helps to create a more youthful look.
5) Optional LED light therapy
- a) LED Red Light Treatment: Both Red light and Infrared light is used to reduce skin redness and irritation. It also helps to even out skin pigmentation and reduce sun damage. This is an excellent calming add on treatment for someone with Rosacea and very sensitive skin who doesn’t want the downtime of a Laser Facial or IPL treatment.
- b) LED Blue Light Treatment: This 5 min Blue Light treatment can be performed at the completion of the Hydrafacial treatment. It targets and kills p. acne bacteria, the strain of bacteria that plays a key role in causing most acne.
Overall, the procedure is quick, easy, and painless.

Candidates for HydraFacial
Unlike some procedures provided by plastic surgeons, it’s very hard to find someone who does not qualify for HydraFacial treatment. Some people worry that their skin is either too light or dark for HydraFacial, but this particular treatment is designed for all skin tones.
You might also be worried that your skin is too oily, too dry, or too sensitive for this procedure. However, HydraFacial is generally acceptable for all skin types. If you are still concerned and would like to discuss HydraFacial more, we would love to talk to you. We are able to closely examine your particular case and tailor the treatment to fit your skin type. We do this because we want to ensure you are very happy with the outcome.
To confirm that you are a good candidate for the HydraFacial treatment, we invite you to set up a consultation. We will be able to give you more information about the treatment and show how we can help you achieve fresher, more radiant skin. You are welcome to call us at 845-863-1772 or contact us online.
The Recovery Process
Most of our patients assume there will be some sort of recovery process after undergoing the HydraFacial treatment. We are delighted to tell them that they are incorrect. The treatment requires no recovery time, and you should not expect bruising, redness, or even blotchiness. Rather, you will notice that your skin looks radiant and rejuvenated, and you will be able to go about your activities as usual. It’s really no different from a trip to the grocery store or any other ordinary appointment, so we encourage you to think about it that way.
Side Effects of HydraFacial
We believe it’s very important to notify our patients of any potential side effects of all procedures we offer, no matter how minimal they might be. In this case, the side effects of the HydraFacial treatment are indeed minimal.
You should expect little to no side effects. The patient might experience some very slight pain, and perhaps some tightness or very slight redness of the skin for an hour or two following the procedure, but this is not common.
Very seldomly, redness may linger for longer than anticipated, perhaps a day or so. A cold compress can help to minimize this side effect.
Scarring is also possible, but very rare. We do not at all anticipate this will happen during your treatment.
Like any other procedure, there are possible side effects, but they are rare and typically resolve quickly. Overall, the HydraFacial treatment is a highly safe and comfortable procedure, and we are very happy to recommend it to our patients.

Hydration is a key component of healthy, radiant skin. HydraFacial helps hydrate the skin and remove impurities. Irritants age the skin, so it’s best to avoid any procedure that will cause undue irritation. HydraFacial, however, is a non-irritating treatment.
You probably are! The HydraFacial treatment is designed for a diverse array of skin types, no matter the color or level of sensitivity. You can even have the treatment customized for your own skin. We are happy to talk to you to make sure you are an appropriate candidate for the treatment.
The Signature HydraFacial only takes about 30 minutes. The Delux HydraFacials with the various add on treatments can take 60 to 90 minutes.
Will the HydraFacial treatment hurt?
Absolutely not. Some patients describe the feeling as a cool paintbrush or toothbrush moving slowly over their face. Many people find the sensation to be pleasant.
How long do I have to wait after the HydraFacial treatment before resuming normal activities?
We don’t anticipate you having to wait any time at all after your treatment before resuming normal activities. Think of it as any other errand you might run. You should be in and out of the doctor’s office in less than an hour.
What sort of results can I expect, and for how long? Should I come back for more treatments?
Many people report very positive results after only one treatment. Indeed, you should expect more youthful, radiant, and healthier-looking skin immediately. And for a special event, you might only need one treatment. However, if you would like to maintain the vibrant look that HydraFacial provides, we encourage monthly treatments.
