Juvederm Vollure® Treatments
FDA approved Juvederm Vollure® is a smooth gel that is made with Juvederm’s unique Vycross® technology, which provides easier, pain-free injections. The Vollure® injectable liquid is soft and pliable, and Dr. Rubinstein likes to use Vollure® because it produces the most natural and longest-lasting results available on the market. Vollure® last 1.5 years, while other Juvederm fillers last one year. Juvederm Vollure® is formulated from hyaluronic acid (HA), which is a naturally occurring substance that adds subtle hydration and structure to the skin. Vollure® is a revolutionary soft tissue filler which has advanced far beyond other fillers like Restylane and Radiesse.
Vollure® is FDA approved to treat nasolabial folds (the lines that develop with age between the corners of the mouth and nose) and along the jawline and chin. The Vollure® injectable treatment is used to:
- Fill in and add volume to medium or deep nasolabial folds that form from the corners of the mouth to the corners of the nose.
- Fill in mild to moderate wrinkles and lines.
- Refresh and add volume where needed in the lower portion of the face.
- Fill and define the lips. (This is an off-label use that accomplishes beautiful lips)
- Fill and add volume in the tear trough and to under eye circles. (This is an off-label use of Vollure® that Dr. Rubinstein uses to achieve outstanding youth-enhancing results)
Juvederm Vollure® – During the Procedure
Dr. Rubinstein will follow a customized Vollure® treatment plan that he has created to produce the most pleasing and natural-looking results. Dr. Rubinstein will often combine Vollure with other fillers such as Voluma for cheek or jaw line lifting. Each Vollure® injection comes premixed with lidocaine, which is an anesthetic that relieves discomfort. The treatment takes about 15 minutes. Most patients describe the experience as painless with a mild pressure or a gentle pinch when the injections are completed.
Dr. Rubinstein will clean the injection area and then administer Vollure® using a fine gauge needle or a micro cannula for those who are prone to bruising just below the skin. More than one syringe is usually needed to achieve natural results for each patient. The results are seen immediately.
What to Expect After the Juvederm Vollure® Treatment
You can return to your typical daily routine after the Vollure® treatment, and downtime or time off from work is not required. The Vollure® injection uses less HA than other fillers, which means that less water is absorbed into the treated area and less swelling and irritation is experienced. There may be mild bruising, redness and irritation after the treatment, and it is best to avoid intense exercise and direct exposure to the sun for the first 24 hours. More serious complications are very rare.
You can expect to experience immediate results. Juvederm Vollure® produces natural-looking results that will last for up to 1.5 years as opposed to regular Juvederm injectables, which have a lasting expectancy of up to one year. The body naturally absorbs the injectable’s HA properties, and a repeat treatment at 12 to 18 months post treatment will help you to maintain the results.
