While plenty of people decide to have plastic surgery to correct a flaw or adjust a feature they’re just not happy about, some people decide to have surgery for an entirely different reason. Some people want to look as much like their favorite celebrity as possible. There’s the woman who wanted to look like actor Jennifer Lawrence, the guy who wanted to look like pop star Justin Bieber, and believe it or not, the woman who tried to transform herself into Jessica Rabbit, an animated character.
You might not want to have surgery to completely transform your look into that of your favorite celebrity. But you can use certain features or aspects of a celeb’s appearance to inspire your surgical procedure.
Lip Injections Like Kylie Jenner
It took her a while to own up to it, but in 2015 model and celebrity Kylie Jenner, then aged 17, admitted to getting lip injections. The model felt self-conscious about her lips and had wanted the injections to make them fuller. Even before she admitted to having the injections, her lips sparked a trend. People were going out of their way to make their own lips resemble Kylie’s. The Kylie Jenner Lip Challenge, a dangerous stunt that involved sucking on a glass to plump up the lips, started trending on social media.
Luckily, if you want fuller lips or if you want lips that resemble Kylie’s, there are safe ways to go about getting them. Lip injections typically involve a filler made from hyaluronic acid. Common fillers used include Juvederm, Restylane and Belotero.
Of the three, Belotero is the thinnest. It’s often recommended for first time lip injections, since it is less likely to create a result that is too full. Juvederm and Restylane are thicker, which can create a more dramatic result. The thicker fillers also tend to last longer in the lips than Belotero.
While hyaluronic acid fillers are popular, they aren’t the only way to enhance your pout like Kylie Jenner. A more permanent option to consider is fat transfer. During fat transfer, the surgeon removes a small amount of fat from an area of your body, such as the thighs or buttocks. The fat is then cleaned to remove any impurities before it is placed into a syringe for injection into the lips.
Sometimes, the lips look a little too full after fat transfer. That’s because there’s a fair amount of trial and error involved in the process. It’s not uncommon for people’s bodies to reabsorb a considerable amount of the fat injected, minimizing the results of the procedure.
The good news is that the process can be repeated as needed until the desired results are achieved. In a lot of cases, any remaining fat left after the reabsorption process is permanent.
Brazilian Butt Lift Like Iggy Azalea
Another celebrity who’s raised a lot of speculation when it comes to plastic surgery is Iggy Azalea. Azalea has admitted to having rhinoplasty and breast augmentation. But the part of her that gets people talking and that many people want to imitate is her butt.
Whether Azalea has had a Brazilian butt lift or not, if you’d like a fuller, more prominent backside, the procedure can be an option for you. Similar to facial and lip fat transfer, a butt lift involves taking fat from one area and transferring it to the buttocks. Common areas for fat removal include the thighs and abdomen.
When it comes down to it, a butt lift actually accomplishes two things. It gives you a fuller backside while helping to slim down an area that has extra, unwanted fat.
There are some things to consider when contemplating a butt lift. For one thing, the procedure isn’t for the super skinny. If you have no extra fat to spare, you won’t be able to have a Brazilian butt lift. For another thing, the procedure requires a bit of downtime. Sitting on the buttocks isn’t recommended for the first few weeks or so and you’ll want to wear a special garment to help shape the buttocks while you recover.
Rhinoplasty Like Jennifer Aniston
Actor Jennifer Aniston has said a few not-so-positive things about plastic surgery. Despite her anti-surgery stance these days, she can’t deny having nasal surgery years ago. She states that the surgery was primarily to correct a deviated septum, but it also changed the shape of her nose.
If you’re not happy with your own nose, you might take some inspiration from Aniston and consider rhinoplasty. Rhinoplasty can alter or change many aspects of the nose, from its appearance to its function. Some people, like Aniston, have rhinoplasty because they have had trouble breathing for years. It’s also possible to combine a functional rhinoplasty, which corrects problems with breathing, with a standard rhinoplasty, which corrects certain aspects of the nose’s appearance.
What can you change about your nose’s appearance? If you believe your nose is too wide, surgery can make it more narrow. Surgery can also increase the size of the nose, adjust the angle of the nasal tip, and remove deformities such as a hump or divot. The surgery can also correct issues like a saddle nose deformity or a bulbous tip.
You might not be the mirror of image of your favorite celebrity after plastic surgery, but surgery can be a way to help you feel more confident about your own looks, and more confident in general.
