I had my first nose job near my hometown but now I’m looking to travel to someone who specializes in revision rhinoplasty. How does travel come into play for the surgery?
It is critical to have follow up after rhinoplasty, especially in revision cases, as there can be healing issues that develop, such as scar tissue formation, that will need to be addressed in a timely manner in order to ensure optimal results. I prefer my out of town patients stay for one week after surgery and then follow up at 6 weeks, 3 months, 6 months and 12 months. If patients are not able to follow up for each of these visits, I am often able to find a facial plastic surgery colleague in their geographic area who is willing to see them for me post operatively. Follow up is critical.
