BOTOX Cosmetic New York

Before & After Photos

Botox Cosmetic is a non-surgical injection that is currently one of the most popular treatments at Laser & Cosmetic Surgery Specialists of Newburgh, New York, as well as across the U.S. and the world. Botox® is the cosmetic form of botulinum toxin and it is used to temporarily reduce or eliminate dynamic wrinkles, or those which are caused by over expression. Botox® is very effective in treating worry lines, frown lines, forehead creases, laugh lines, crow’s feet and neck banding. It is also effective in treating excessive sweating (hyperhydrosis) and is sometimes used to treat the nasolabial folds. After injection, wrinkles are visibly smoothed and softened and patients appear younger and more relaxed.

Botox- The Procedure

Dr. Ran Rubinstein performs Botox® injections in the office setting and treatment takes just ten minutes or so to complete. While the injection is not painful, a topical anesthetic may be applied to maximize the patient’s comfort. Using a very fine needle, the Botox® is injected in small amounts directly into the muscle that causes the wrinkle. Botox® relaxes the muscle by blocking the nerve impulses, making the skin’s surface smooth and wrinkle-free.

After Your Treatment: What to Expect:

New York Botox InjectionsThere is little downtime or recovery associated with Botox® injections. Patients may experience some temporary swelling, redness or bruising at the injection site but these side effects tend to fade quickly. Patients are able to immediately resume work and other normal activities after treatment. The effects of Botox® are seen within five to seven days. Results last an average of three to four months. Repeat treatments are needed in order to maintain the effect.

For more total rejuvenation, Botox® can be combined with other treatments such as Restylane, laser resurfacing, microdermabrasion, and facial peels to address facial wrinkles, pigmentation problems, spider veins and other skin concerns.

Possible Complications

Botox® is a very safe treatment but there are potential complications, including temporary bruising, redness, numbness and swelling. Though less common, other risks may include droopy eyelids, allergic reaction, nausea, headache, respiratory infection, and flu syndrome.
