Meet Dr. B. Aviva Preminger, MD
Experience and Expertise
Dr. B. Aviva Preminger is a Board Certified, Ivy League educated plastic surgeon with faculty appointments at Columbia University as well as several other fully accredited New York hospitals. She has expertise in a wide range of cosmetic and reconstructive procedures and has lectured and published extensively.
Dr. Preminger has joined Dr. Rubinstein as the body plastic surgeon to offer highly specialized plastic surgery care, a first in the mid Hudson valley! Her unique specialty is in body contouring, with expertise in liposuction, SmartLipo, tummy tuck, breast lift, breast augmentation and “Mommy Makeovers.”
Education
Dr. B. Aviva Preminger completed her undergraduate training at Harvard University. During this time, she focused her studies on the History of Science. She also served as President of the Harvard Chapter of Operation Smile. She wrote an honors thesis about plastic surgery and Jewish identity, exploring issues such as the history of the “Jewish Nose.” After graduating with honors from Harvard, Dr. Preminger obtained her medical degree from Cornell University Medical College and finished in the top of her class. She was also elected President of the Cornell Chapter of Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical student honor society. Dr. Preminger then completed her surgical training at New York Presbyterian Hospital-Cornell/Columbia. She had the opportunity to train under some of the most renowned cosmetic and reconstructive surgeons in New York City. She also earned a Masters Degree in Public Health from Columbia’s Mailman School of Public Health. She completed a Clinical Research Fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering and has published and presented at national meetings on topics such as patient education and quality of life in plastic surgery, the use of AlloDerm in breast reconstruction, as well as advances in body contouring and brow lifting.
