You will also meet with one of Dr. Rubinstein’s patient care coordinators and nurse to answer additional questions you may have to assist you in the decision process. The patient care coordinator will be happy to give you names of other respected plastic surgeons if you are interested in obtaining a second opinion. Names of former patients who have agreed to be contacted will be given upon request. A pre-operative visit will be scheduled 2 weeks prior to surgery. All your questions regarding pre and post operative care and any associated potential risks from the procedure will be discussed in detail at that time. This information will be e-mailed to you for your review prior to the visit.

Please bring the following to your consultation:

  • Please complete all forms sent to you via email prior to your visit. If you do not have an email address, please come to your appointment 30 minutes earlier. These forms can also be downloaded from our web site. This will give you ample time to review all forms and sign where necessary.
  • Photos of yourself from 10, 20 plus years ago if you are contemplating a rejuvenation procedure. Dr. Rubinstein will analyze the changes with you so that we can help you turn back time naturally. Video imaging is often times performed to better understand what changes can be made.
  • A list of medications you are presently taking. Also be prepared to discuss your medical history.
  • If applicable, bring X-Rays and medical notes pertaining to trauma suffered.
  • If applicable, bring the necessary insurance information and your referral slip. This will save time and allow us to help you process any claims.IMPORTANT: A parent or guardian must accompany all patients under 18 at the consultation visit.

Video Imaging

Using comprehensive computer video imaging, we can show you how you can improve your appearance and give you an idea of how you’ll look after the surgery. This helps you understand the surgical process, the extent of the treatment prescribed, and to see the benefits of plastic surgery. Computer imaging has its limitations as it tries to make 3-D changes in a 2 dimensional computer screen. Although video imaging is invaluable in patient education, the results should not be used to determine exact outcomes. Typically, the actual outcome is more natural and impressive that the imaging process itself.
