SmartLipo Triplex is a newer technique in liposuction which uses laser energy to permanently remove unwanted fat. It is less invasive and safer than traditional liposuction and can also provide improved results. The use of laser energy serves two purposes: it liquefies the fat thus facilitating its removal, and it tightens the skin.
SmartLipo Triplex is an excellent procedure for individuals with good skin tone who are bothered by stubborn areas of the fat like the love handles, saddle bags, bat wings and muffin tops. It can be used on many areas of the body including the abdomen, back, breasts, buttocks, hips, knees, thighs and upper arms. It is also used on areas of the face including the cheeks, chin and neck.
SmartLipo Triplex is performed by Dr. Rosas as an outpatient procedure using local anesthesia. A very small tube which is fitted with a laser fiber is used and this is inserted through a tiny incision in the skin. Once in place, the laser energy liquefies the fat which is then gently suctioned out. The laser also triggers the production of new collagen and tightens the skin. Noticeable improvement can be seen immediately afterward with continued improvement occurring over time as the swelling subsides and new collagen growth occurs. The recovery after SmartLipo Triplex is generally easier and quicker than after other traditional liposuction techniques. Patients typically experience less bruising and swelling.
In addition, there is usually less pain and discomfort. Most patients find that they can return to work and other normal activities after two to four days. However, you will be advised to refrain from exercise and strenuous activities for at least seven to ten days. During your recovery, you will likely need to wear a compression garment to help support the new contours of the body and minimize swelling.
All surgeries carry some risk. While SmartLipo Triplex is safer than traditional liposuction with fewer complications like dimpling and sagging, there are potential complications which can occur. These may include bruising, infection, hematoma, scarring and bleeding. You can help to minimize your potential risks by carefully following the pre- and post-operative instructions provided by your doctor.
